JI resents rise in flour price

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has resented the recent rise in prices of wheat flour and demanded of the government to withdraw the hike of Rs2 per kilogram. JI leaders Muzaffar Hashmi, Laeeq Khan, Nasrullah Khan Shajih, Hameedullah Advocate and Younus Barai strongly condemning the increase in flour prices termed it a sheer injustice with poor and less privileged families.

They said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has forgotten its election promises, adding inflation, load-shedding, unemployment and terrorism is one the rise3. They regretted that price of wheat flour has risen by Rs9 per kilogram in 100 days of Nawaz Sharif government.

The prices of ‘bread and other related items have also increased with the increase in flour prices and it has become difficult for poor people to arrange two square meals for their families, they added.

The JI demanded of the government to decrease the prices of edible items so that the poor people can also feed their children.
