KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that Jamaat-e-Islami would take active part in the upcoming Local Bodies (LB) polls.
He said that the party leadership was in contact with the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other parties in order to evolve an effective strategy for getting best results in LB polls.
He expressed these views while addressing a workers’ convention, organised by JI Shah Faisal Zone in connection with the preparations of LB elections and successful campaign of hides’ collection.
Naeem asked the party workers to prepare themselves for LB elections, adding that the every worker of JI should take part in the election campaign with courage and steadfastness.
Referring the recent meeting with the PTI provincial leadership fruitful, JI Karachi chief said that the leaders of both the parties had discussed the overall situation for LB polls in details, adding that the party leadership was in the favour of deliberations with other parties of Sindh province.
He further said that the chances of rigging in the LB elections in the prevailing circumstances where the LEAs were active due to ongoing targeted operation will definitely raise question mark on the performance of government and other authorities concerns.
Commenting on the US army withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2014, Hafiz Naeem said that the massive changes were likely to be expected after the withdrawal of US army from Afghanistan and colossal movements would be produced after that, we should keep each and every situation in our minds, he added.
“Billions of US dollars investments are being continued in the country for creating confusion regarding Islam and spread anarchy on the basis of sects”, he added.
“We should prepare ourselves for spreading the message of religion Islam among the people and take them into confidence about the conspiracies hatched by external powers against Pakistan”, he maintained.
On the occasion, JI Karachi Chief congratulated the workers on record collection of hides on Eid-ul-Azha. JI District East Ameer Younus Barai said that the people of city were facing threats of terrorism, extortion and strikes since long, however; JI would not let the people of Karachi alone and free them of the clutches of terrorist mafia.
On the occasion, Younus Barai, JI Information Secretary Zahid Askari and Ameer Shah Faisal Zone Muhammad Ashraf distributed shields among the party workers on their excellent performance in collection of hides on Eid-ul-Azha.
