USTA MUHAMMAD: Senior Journalist and Reporter Daily Balochistan times Quetta and his driver were shot dead by armed men along Dera Allah Yar road Sunday. According to details Muhammad Afzal Khwaja Reporter Balochistan Times and Zamana Quetta and his driver Akbar Ali were returning from Jacobabad in a vehicle. When their vehicle reached in Cattle Thana police area, five armed men standing along Dera Allah Yar road signalled to stop the vehicle but driver took it away. Armed men opened fire in which the two died on the scene.
Afzal Khwaja and his driver were laid to rest at their native graveyard. Earlier their namaz janaza was offered at Faisal Park which was largely attended by journalists, newsmen and people from every walk of life.
Meanwhile Balochistan Chief Minster Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while expressing grief over the murder of journalist Afzal Khwaja has condemned his killing in strong words.
He said providing security to journalists is our responsibility and government would fulfil its obligation.
Chief Minister has directed administration for immediate arrest of killers of journalists.
