Journalist widow given 1 m cheque

QUETTA: Widow of slain journalist of Khuzdar Abdul Haq was given a cheque of Rupees one million on behalf of Prime minister by Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad.

Abdul Haq was reporter of ARY News Channel. He also worked for PPI news agency.

According to details miscreants had killed Abdul Haq a senior journalist and office bearer of Khuzdar Press Club.

Miscreants had killed him on October 29, 2012. Taking notice of the ugly incident Prime Minister had ordered immediate inquiry into his killing and announced Rupees one million assistance for the family.

Chief Secretary assured that this is a token money and nothing can be alternative to life of deceased. He said killers of Abdul Haq would be arrested and given stringent punishment. He asked people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies for making Balochistan hub of peace. He announced that Abdul Haq’s widow would be provided government job and provincial government would bear educational expenses of the deceased.
