Karachi tragedy: Probe team to file report in 3 days

Karachi: A six-member probe team headed by AIGP CID Police Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, and comprising DIG CID, DIG West, DIG East, DIG CIA and Wing Commander Pakistan rangers Sind has been formed to investigate the deadly bomb blast in Abbas Town Karachi and submit its report within three days.

The probe team was formed in a high-level meeting held in wee hours of Monday with Sind chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in chair. The meeting took a serious notice of the tragedy and resolved to deal the culprits with iron hand. It decided a stern and result-oriented action in lawless areas of the city with dens of criminals and hordes of illegal weapons. It was also decided to summon additional contingent of 2000 cops from different districts of the province to Karachi to improve the security of the mega city. Even more cops would be summoned if and when needed. It was decided to pay compensation to the heirs of victims. The compensation would also be paid to the injured and those whose properties went damaged in the blast.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah offered Fateha for the victims and prayed for early recovery of the injured. He asked the police and rangers to utilize all available resources to nab the culprits involved in the deadly incident and provide security and safety to the citizens. He said close vigil be kept on banned outfits and hatred-based wall chalking and banners immediately removed from the city.
