Karachi violence claims three lives

Karachi: Three people were killed and two others injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Monday.

SHO Defence Ijaz Ahmed told PPI that unidentified assailants riding on motorbikes opened fire on a car in Defence Phase II, killing 50-year-old Sheikh Masood. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.

In another incident, rescue sources said that unidentified men opened fire in Jam Goth area of Jaffar Tayyar in Malir, killing Afzal Shah. The body had gunshot wounds on his head. He was shifted to JPMC for postmortem.

A body of 26-year-old unidentified men was recovered from Quetta Town at Super Highway. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy.

A 30-year-old man, Obaid, was injured during a police encounter in Haroonabad area of SITE Area.

According to a police official at Mochko police station, on a tip-off, the police carried out a raid in Haroonabad area in the limits of SITE police station, and arrested an injured dacoit during an encounter. The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Unidentified opened fire near Saddam Chowk in Machhar Colony, injuring 22-year-old Asghar. The injured was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
