Peshawar: The Provincial Assembly on Thursday through unanimous resolution demanded for broadcast of Azan on all official and private Television Channels for five time Nimaz to promote Islamic virtues in the country.
The resolution was moved by JUI female member Uzma Khan and supported by treasury and opposition members. through another resolution that was moved by Syed Jaffar Shah of ANP also demanded rehabilitation of Madyan Grid Station which was destroyed during devastating floods in 2010.
The resolution also demanded of the federal government to implement the decision of awarding Wapda division status to Khwaza Khela and sub division to Madyan. Earlier the house which met with deputy speaker Imtiaz Shahid Quraishi debated the appointment of 32 parliamentary secretaries. opposition members through various points of orders raised the issue in the house and objected the appointment of parliamentary secretaries and termed it violation of the rules and regulations.
Responding to the objections about parliamentary secretaries the provincial minister for law and parliamentary affairs Israrullah Gandapur said that Chief Minister through executive order had made this appointment.
“The appointment of parliamentary secretaries is being made under Provincial Government Rules of Business however formal legislation will be made for these appointments for which establishment department has been preparing the draft law,” he said.
Gandapur said that provincial ministers and special assistance had been awarded different portfolios to smoothly run the affairs of these departments. ” the appointment of parliamentary secretaries will put no burden on national exchequer,” he told the assembly.
