“we want to abolish VIP culture in the province. we are aspirant that student in schools and colleges, complainant at police station, patients at hospitals and common people at public offices be given VIP status,” said Siraj.
He said that despite having short time for preparation of budget, the coalition government had tried its level best to produce a balance budget with main focus on education and health.
” we have diverted 28 % of our budget for education and spending 23 billion in health sector. we will ensure free emergency treatment and upgrade DHQ hospitals,” Siraj said. For devolution of power, he said the coalition government will soon introduce a new local government bill in the house after which election will be held within short possible time. ” we want to devolve power to 1000 villages for which we have allocated Rs 1 billion in the budget” he said.

Answering a question Siraj said that bureaucracy in Islamabad and Wapda had been creating hurdles for KP government in receipt of net hydel profit therefore his government will utilize every mean to get the province’s right. ” net hydel profit is a major source of income for us but we are not getting it despite the decision of arbitration tribunal” he observed.
He said that despite the same coalition government in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and Center the PPPANP government failed to receive the province’s right which was deplorable.
Siraj said that Khyber Pukhtunkhwa had the potential to produce 25 thousands Mega Watt of electricity therefore center should declare energy emergency and start production of electricity in the province to solve the energy crisis in two years.
To another question he said Chief Minister and minister will adopt austerity and they will be servants of the people so the people will realize that change had begun in the province.
“we have to start from the top not from the bottom. CM has already abandoned living in CM house, 50% cut has been imposed on the expenditure of CM house and governor house, ban on foreign treatment for VIPs has also been imposed therefore we expect that these steps will also change the behavior of public servants,” he hoped.
