KP Govt issues alert about flood in River Indus

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued an alert about flood in River Indus in the wake of release of water of Alchi Dam by India without any pre-schedule.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority has sent a letter to Deputy Commissioners of all those ten districts from where River Indus passes, to keep watch on the situation to avert any human and material losses.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Torghar District under section 144 has banned swimming and boating in River Indus for thirty days with immediate effect.

This decision has been taken for public safety.
