Karachi: Karachi Water & Sewerage Board taking advantage of the 5 day 9th 13th February supply disconnection to Hub Canal from Hub Dam has completed many important maintenance tasks.
M.D KW&SB visited the site with Deputy Managing Director Technical Service DMD TS and other officers on Tuesday 12th February to inspect the work progress.
The supply to Hub Canal was blocked by Water and Power Development Authority WAPDA for maintenance at Hub Dam and M.D KW&SB taking benefit of the disconnection directed D.M.D Technical Services and Chief Engineer Bulk to ensure that all Hub Canal maintenance tasks are completed within same time.
The work started with the disconnection on 9th and KW&SB would be completing all pending tasks including interconnections of the newly laid 66″ diameter M.S Pipeline, cleaning of 22 kilometre long Hub Canal, Patch Work, excavation of sand and wild plants and other important maintenance tasks.
M.D KW&SB also directed DMD TS to ensure that all legal procedures are followed properly and all paper work is crystal clear. Furthermore he stated that concerned contractors must be directed that all pending work must be completed within these 5 days by 13th February using additional man power, resources and machinery if required.
