LDA refunds amount on order of ombudsman

Karachi: An expatriate Pakistani woman along with two others received original amount and premium, deposited with Lyari Development Authority against allotment of flats, on the orders of Asad Ashraf Malik, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh.

According to details, Mst. Shaheen Nisar, Mst. Nida Rashid and Faisal Mukhtar lodged complaint against Lyari Development Authority with Provincial Ombudsman Sindh for refund of their amount deposited with L.D.A as the said scheme was abandoned by L.D.A in 2009.

Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik ordered an enquiry into the matter and after having found the claims to be genuine directed L.D.A for arranging immediate refund to the complainants.

In pursuance of the Ombudsman’s directive L.D.A in compliance informed that amount deposited by the complainants would soon be refunded to them along with premium after fulfilling required formalities.

Accordingly cheque of Rs. 8,54,015/, Rs.7,32,268/ and Rs.3,32,666/ issued by L.D.A in favour of the complainants, were handed over to them by Asad Ashraf Malik at his Office.
