Libyan Presidential Council condemns bombing of migrant detention center in Tajoura

The Presidential Council of Libya's Government of National Accord condemned the bombing of the Illegal Immigration Centre of Tajoura on the outskirts of the Libyan capital Tripoli, killing at least 40 migrants and wounding dozens.

In a statement Wednesday, The Presidential Council called upon the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to condemn this barbaric action and send a factfinding committee to inspect the site and document this criminal act. The Council also urged the international community, through the African Union, the European Union and international organizations, to take a clear position on these ongoing violations.

The Tajoura branch of the AntiIllegal Immigration Authority said that the Illegal Immigration Centre of Tajoura was hit by heavy airstrikes, leaving many migrants dead or wounded.
