Lyari gangsters among three killed in police encounters

Karachi: Three criminals, including Lyari gangsters, were killed in separate incidents of police and Rangers encounters in parts of the city, on Monday.

According to police, Rangers and police carried out a joint operation on a tip-off of criminals in Chakiwara area of Lyari. The criminals opened fire at the law enforcing personnel as they approached towards the criminal’s hideout.

After a brief encounter, two criminals belonging from Uzair Baloch group were gunned down. They were identified as 30-year-old Ejaz and 35-year-old Dilshad. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Both of them were wanted by police in several criminal cases.

In another encounter, 25-year-old Wahid was killed in Saddar. According to SSP South Nasir Aftab, the accused was caught red-handed in looting citizens and tried to escape from the spot after seeing a police van.

“Police followed him and after an encounter, he was shot dead. A TT pistol and looted material was also recovered from the accused.” The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy.
