Malik Baloch takes oath as Balochistan Chief Minister

QUETTA: President National Party Dr Abdul Malik Baloch too oath as Balochistan chief Minister here Sunday.

Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi administered the oath at a simple but impressive ceremony at Governor House.

Oath taking ceremony as attended among others by Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali, Chairman Senate Committee on Interior Talha Mahmood, Opposition leader Maulana Abdul Wasay, Deputy Opposition leader Engineer Zamrak Achakzai, MPAs, Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, Secretaries, senior officers, leaders of various politi8cla parties. It is for the first time a very large number of people attended oath taking ceremony of Balochistan Chief Minister.

After taking oath Dr Malik Baloch mixed up with the people and received felicitation from individuals.

Earlier Dr Malik Baloch was declared leader of House in Balochistan Assembly. Fifty five members rose in their seats to support him. Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali announced his unopposed election on the basis of majority vote.

Speaking in the house new Chief Minister Dr Malik Baloch said he would frame his policies by taking allies along. He said the biggest of all challenge is law and order. Growing incidents of recovery of mutilated dead bodies, sectarian killings, abduction for ransom are also included in it. These are the problems to face them is our topmost priority. He said people of the province has pinned hopes from us. If we fail civil war would start in the province. He hoped that military leadership has to follow political leadership. He said Federation has to play its role to elimination of sectarianism. We have to establish good relations with out neighbouring countries. He said he would do his best to come to the expectations of the masses.

We would frame out policies by taking allies into confidence. We would bring reforms in Education and health sectors. He said our forefathers Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Abdul Samad Khan, Sardar Attaullah Mengal and Nawab Khair Bakhsh Marri struggled against Britishers and suffered imprisonments.

He said now situation has changed. Teachers and doctors should perform their duty at their places or action would be taken against them. He said educational institutions and health sectors have destroyed. He said peace is needed for development in the province. He would go to Ulema to ring people nearer.

He said he hoped political parties would not recommend any doctor or teacher who does not perform duty at their places.

President PMLN Sardar Sanaullah Zehri said Balochistan has a tradition and it would be maintained. He said JUI also extended support to Dr Malik Baloch and he was thankful to them.

He also said the biggest of all is problem of law and order in Balochistan. Unless there is peace, development is impossible. He aid we have to eliminate corruption in the province which has become a cancer. For it a task force would be constituted.

Maulana Abdul Wasay JUI, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal PMAP, Shaikh Jaffar Mandokhel PML, Engineer Zamrak Achakzai ANP, Syed Raza Agha Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen and others said that previous record of the assembly was bad. Now we have to change traditions of the house and do something for people.

They said after Afghan war law and order situation developed. Had we not interfered in Afghanistan situation would not have the same as today.

They said for safe journey along highways Chief Minister should take emergency measures.
