Marches not to derail democracy: Khuhro

Karachi: Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said the time had passed when democracy used to be derailed through long marches and short marches, adding the sitting government would complete its five-year term till March 2013 as per the constitution.

Talking to media at his office, Khuhro said Pakistan Peoples’ Party PPP had brought a revolution. It has strengthened the institutions and rendered many sacrifices in this regard. He said there is no room for dictatorships or revolutions.

He said those who want a dictatorial rule in the country in the cover of revolutionary slogans could not be succeeded their plans. He further said Tahir ul Qadri would responsible if the democratic system derailed.

Speaker said neutral interim set up would be formed after completion of five-year time period of current assemblies. He said next general election will be held on time.
