Meeting reviews arrangements for Muharram

QUETTA: A meeting of Ulema from various schools of thought, Police officers, civil and administration officers and businessmen representatives was held under the chairmanship of Commandant Ghazaband Scouts Colonel Maqbool Shah at FC Madadgar Centre here Tuesday.

To maintaining sectarian harmony and law and order during Muharram, meeting decided that alongside FC troops Shia and Sunni volunteers would also be deployed near imam Bargahs while lady searchers would also be present at nakas for checking of women.

Houses and shops along the procession route would be sealed and fool proof checking of under construction nullahs, buildings and plots would be carried out. Moreover complete details of drivers and ambulances moving along with procession would be sought.

Meeting also decided that bazaars in Marriabad and Hazara town would be completely closed on 9 th and 10 th o Muharram.

Col Maqbool Shah said that non would be allowed to keep or display weapons except law enforcers.

He appealed to Ulema from Shia and Sunni sect to promote spirit of tolerance and sacrifice so that peace in Quetta could be maintained at permanent basis.
