Chairman of Egypt's official Middle East News Agency (MENA) Ali Hassan presented Director General of the Union of OIC News Agencies Issa Khaireh Robleh with the MENA Shield in recognition of his efforts in serving the media in OIC member states and the Union's efforts in serving the Islamic Ummah.
During the meeting held in Cairo on Tuesday, which was attended by MENA's Chief Editor Salah Jumaa, they discussed means of activating cooperation between the UNA and MENA in order to improve the service to Muslims and media agencies in OIC member states.
At the beginning of the meeting, Hassan welcomed Dr. Robleh, expressing MENA's support to the work of the Union and its role in training and developing the abilities of journalists in OIC member states, its efforts in disseminating information of the culture and civilization of the Islamic Ummah, as well as of its bid in countering extremism and Islamophobia.
The chairman of MENA stressed the desire to cooperate with the Union in the field of training and developing the skills of media personnel in OIC member states.
On his part, UNA director general toured the main editing hall of the agency. He thanked MENA chairman for his sincere desire to cooperate with the Union.
