Missing person case: SHC issues notices to top officials

KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC on Tuesday issued notices to Interior secretary, home secretary, director general Rangers, provincial police chief and other respondents in a petition seeking whereabouts of missing man.

A division bench of SHC headed by Chief Justice Mushir Alam was hearing the petition filed by Sakina, who sought whereabouts of her missing son.

The woman petitioner submitted that her 25yearsold son, Muhammad Javed, was missing since 20 July, 2013. She said that she had approached the police station concerned but to no avail. She pleaded the court to direct respondents to produce her son in the court.

After hearing initial arguments, the court issued notices to respondents Interior secretary, home secretary, director general Rangers, provincial police chief, and SHO of Gulzar Hijri police station.

The hearing of THE case was adjourned till September 19.
