Multan-Bahawalpur tames Afghanistan

Karachi: Multan-Bahawalpur Region team overpowered visiting Afghanistan cricket team recording a three-wicket victory on Friday at Multan Stadium in Multan.

Afghanistan batted first in the match and put on board a modest total of 156-9 in allotted 50 overs. Mohibullah batted well for the side and scored an unbeaten 49-run knock. Zulfiqar Babar captured a four-wicket haul for the local team.

In response, the hosts reached the target in 42 overs with three wickets in hand. Naveed Yasin knocked an unbeaten half-century for the side. Slow left-arm Hamza Hotak, who captured a five-wicket in the previous match, grabbed three scalps in this match as well.

The Afghanistan cricket team in their previous outing thrashed Karachi-Hyderabad Region, recording a massive nine-wicket victory.
