Peshawar: JUI chief Maulana Fazalur Rahman has said that trial of Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 will open a Pandora box.
Talking to media after meeting with Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak at JUI provincial office on Tuesday JUI chief said that he is not against accountability but it is not sure that trial of Pervez Musharraf will yield any result.
“The question is that how much we are capable to register case against Musharraf under Article six conduct the trial. it is also not clear that who other will be charged under this article who supported the abrogation of constitution. I think with this case a new Pandora box will be opened and it will go a long way,” he said.
To a question he said with murder of foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat Pakistan’s image has been badly shattered therefore the incident should thoroughly be investigated to fix the responsibilities. ” Claiming responsibility of terrorist incidents have now become a mockery,” he observed.
He said that to eradicate terrorism All Parties Conference and Grand Tribal Jirga’ had given its recommendations but the question is that as to why these recommendations were not accepted.
Regarding Taliban and America Talks in Doha Qatar, JUI chief said that since very long both side were talking about negotiations but negotiations yet not been held. ” Confidence building measures are necessary for talks but instead USA has given certain conditions and in this circumstances there will be minimum chances of success,” he said.
