Replying to a call attention notice moved by Abdul Rashid Godil and others regarding telecast of foreign countries plays on Pakistani channels, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira told the House that a network is being digitized to monitor the cable operators.

He said after the completion of the project we will be able to completely monitor and control the operation of the cable operators.

He said the network of the cable in the country is very wide and under the present system it is not possible to completely monitor the cable operators.

He said PEMRA takes notice of any violation of code of conduct and also fines cable operators and the channels.

The Minister said it is fact that some channels are broadcasting foreign countries by dubbing but the contents against the norms of the country should not be broadcast.

He said under the rule the channels can broadcast ten percent foreign contents including 40 percent English and 60 percent Urdu contents.
