Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed Wednesday that an action is being taken against unregistered Non Govt Organizations (NGOs).
This was stated by Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Rai Mujtaba Kharal while replying to a call attention notice moved by Dr. Talat Mahesar and others regarding rampant increase in the number of NGOs working on different issues without registration in Islamabad and other parts of the country.
Rai Mujtaba Kharal informed the House that action is being taken against the unregistered NGOs and in future a survey will be conducted in the capital city to ascertain such NGOs and to take action against them.
Replying to another call attention notice moved by Chaudhary Muhammad Barjees Tahir and others regarding unscheduled load-shedding in Islamabad and other parts of the country, Minister of State for Water and Power Tasneem Ahmad Qureshi told the House that the total production capacity of electricity from different sources is 18000 MW but due to the shortage of water the hydel production has been effected to a great deal.
He said efforts are underway to maximize the production to overcome the unscheduled load-shedding in the country.
