NA: Murtaza Javed Abbasi elects as deputy speaker NA

Islamabad: Murtaza Javed Abbasi of Pakistan Muslim League PMLN has been elected as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly NA.

He got 258 votes in the election for the office on Monday.

His opponents Munazza Hassan of PTI secured 31and Kishwar Zahra of MQM got 23 votes in the election. Later‚ Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq administered oath to the new Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi.

The Speaker announced that the election of the Leader of the House will be held on Wednesday. He said the nomination papers can be filed by 2:00 pm on the Election Day. He said the election will be held by the division of the members.
