NAB KP distributes rs.3.524 million cheques among hajj / cheating public at large affectees

Peshawar: NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distributed a total of Rs.3.524 Million among 88 affectees of Hajj / cheating public at large at a simple ceremony held here today at NAB KP Office, Hayatabad Peshawar. Director General KP Col R Khurshid Alam handed over Cheques to the affectees.

The case regarding cheating public at large was related to accused Nasim Nadir, ExMD Overseas Educational Promotion Liaison OEPL Peshawar who on the pretext of education / employment abroad lured a number of students and deprived them of their hard earned money.

NAB taking cognizance of public complaints arrested the accused and succeeded to recover the looted amount. Rs. 3.674 Million have already been distributed among the affectees while Rs.0.7 million were distributed today.

In another case of Hajj scam, one accused namely Muhammad Ashfaq Khan looted Hajis on the pretext of sending them to perform Hajj on cheaper rates of rupees one lac only. NAB arrested the accused and the recovered amount was distributed among 28 affectees today.

Addressing the ceremony DG NAB KP advised the affectees to be vigilant and check credentials of such investment companies before handing over them hard earned money. He added that NAB since its inception has so far distributed billions of rupees among the affectees.
