Ratodero, Sindh: The dispute between the principal and teachers of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Naudero has not yet been resolved, which is disturbing the academic activities in the school.
The situation might further aggravate as the teachers, supported by their trade union, have warned of observing strike in Naudero town if the principal was not transferred within three days. According to teachers, they were being and pressurized by the education officers, who are under political influence.
The dispute is going on since last few months after which District Officer Secondary Education Anwar Khokhar had restricted the Principal Ms. Zeenat Dogar not to come to school till her transfer order is issued. After this assurance the teachers had ended boycott and started taking classes and normalcy returned to the school.
Director of Schools, Larkana Region, Rasool Bux Shah also visited the school on the directions of the Law Minister Ayaz Soomro who was directed by the Sindh Chief Minister to conduct inquiry and submit findings. The Minister directed the official to transfer the principal without further loss of time as mismanagement charges have been levelled by all the staff of the school including her abusive attitude but the director violated his directions and allegedly kept on pressurizing the teachers for compromise but they refused.
Government Secondary Schools Teachers’ Association Ratodero taluka leaders Abdul Rahman Supro & others complained against the principal but she relieved a senior teacher Mahjabeen Bhutto for which she was not authorized as her own posting here is against the service rules. She is originally a subject specialist and has been posted as principal in violation of the services rules on political influence.
Association sources told Journalists that the director visited the school on Saturday morning and distributed Ajraks among the girl students but later during a meeting with the school staff allegedly threatened the school teachers and other staff to accept principal Dogar or else all 20 plus teachers will be transferred to other nearby schools. This created a sense of insecurity among all the senior, junior teachers and other staff being locals.
The local PPP leaders of Naudero had also faxed an application against the principal to Education Secretary who also assured to resolve the issue soon but in vain.
GSSTA district Larkana general secretary Abdul Rahman Supro and Ratodero taluka general secretary, Sikander Sianch, held meeting with the teachers and other lower staff after the threat of the Director Education in which parents of the teachers also participated. They told reporters that it was unanimously decided in the meeting that if principal is not transferred within three days, complete shutter down strike will be observed in Naudero and a large protest demonstration will be jointly held here against the director and principal in which citizens will also take part and even if nothing came out then all male & female teachers will stage sit-in outside president’s camp house which will continue till their just demands are accepted.
