Newly elected President of ICCI vows to work for facilitation of business community

Islamabad: Shaban Khalid formally took charge as new President and Khalid Mehmood Chaudhry as Senior Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

After assuming charge, Shaban Khalid vowed to work for facilitation of business community and pledged to uphold the image & status of ICCI. He said the country is confronted with many challenges and business community should be united and make all possible efforts to steer the country out of this challenging phase.

He said the best approach to pull Pakistan out of economic challenges and put it on the path of sustainable economic development is to make policies for creating an enabling environment for the private sector which is the engine of economic growth.

He stressed that government should pay priority attention to addressing businessmen problems and facilitate them in smooth promotion of business activities. Government should take business leaders on board on all important economic policies as with joint efforts we could contribute much better to improving the economy.

He said he would take all trade associations along and engage them in consultation process on important matters so that we could work jointly to resolve entrepreneurs’ issues.

He also reaffirmed to do strong policy advocacy for serve the cause of ICCI members and make strong efforts towards a progressive and prosperous Pakistan.

He thanked all his supporters for posing confidence in him and assured that he would treat trader and industry equally and there would be no discrimination on this account.
