No dumping garbage point, TMA face difficulties

Sialkot: The Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has no dumping point to dump the garbage due to which the sanitation staff has been suffering great difficulties, in this regard.

Administrator TMA Sialkot Tajamal Abbas Rana told the media persons that as many as 750 sweepers collect 242 tons of garbage daily from the Sialkot city and they dump this huge quantity of garbage to the private lands of the people in villages Kaakeywali, Rohail Garha , Langriyaanwali and other surrounding areas of Sialkot city through 125 vehicles daily.

He said that having TMA’s own dumping point was the need of the day and the TMA was planning to establish its own dumping point by purchasing as many as 16 acres of land at village Sadra Badra (in outskirts of Sialkot city) as soon as possible, with a sole aim to purge the Sialkot’s urban areas from the environmental pollution by dumping the city garbage to there. The Sialkot TMA has already completed its paper work to purchase the land for dumping point, he added.
