Karachi: Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, Saira Afzal Tarar on Friday said that mismanagement and negligence of health officers in their official duties would not be tolerated at any cost.
She expressed these views while talking to journalists during her visit to the Directorate of Central Health Establishment (CHE). She inspected the dispensary, store room and general rooms, and reprimanded over the dilapidated condition of the office.
Saira urged Director Dr Sher Baz Khan to present a report within 15 days regarding allocation of duties of the officers. She further said that committees consisting senior joint secretary, DG Health and head of attached department had been constituted which would ensure the recruitment of efficient officers.
She said that ministry had taken a number of initiatives which include the monitoring system for bringing transparency in the department. She issued directives for ensuring administrating of vaccination of passengers travelling abroad.
She said that to overcoming mismanagement in Drug Regulatory Authority, steps were being taken to uphold rules and regulations of authority. She said that for providing health facilities to poor and deserving people, coordination and collaboration had been increased with all four provincial ministries.
