No new delimitations in Karachi: CEC

Karachi: Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retired) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has said that new delimitations would not be made in Karachi; however, polls would be held in completely free and fair manner.

Talking to media here on Tuesday while reviewing voters’ verification process in different localities of the city, he said free and fair elections are necessary to brighten the future of Pakistan. He said he had accepted the office of chief election commissioner as a mission and he would not leave it without conducting free and fair polls. He said the door to door voter verification process is a pretty difficult but the staff of the election commission of Pakistan is discharging this responsibility in a transparent manner.

He said the ECP teams are not facing law and order problem in Karachi; however, the help of army could be sought if and when felt necessary.
