No transfer of officers without permission: minister

Karachi: While taking serious notice of transfers and postings of officers of grade 17 and above without the permission of Competent Authority, the Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Owais Muzaffar has directed all heads of local bodies throughout the province to desist from such practice.

In a directive issued to all heads of local bodies institutions of Sindh, Minister Local Government has instructed them to strictly abide by these directives and even postings of officers in the name of internal arrangements and stop gap arrangements should be avoided at all cost.

If local bodies institutions deem transfers and postings necessary, it should forward names of three most suitable/competent officers for the same, citing reason/justification for their posting, for the approval of Minister Local Government through Local Government department, the directives further added.

Minister Local Government said that transfers and postings on personal liking and disliking would not be tolerated. All the Local Government institutions should remember that recommendations of transfer and postings must be made only in exceptional circumstances and the officers should be allowed time to perform according to their abilities, the directives concluded.
