Non-payment of salary: Christian municipal employees to ‘celebrate’ Christmas outside KPC on Monday

Karachi: Thousands of Christian employees of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and different towns of city would ‘celebrate’ the religious event Christmas along with their families at road outside Karachi press club on Monday as a protest against non-payment of salary.

The employees and their families would come to the KPC at 12 noon and offer Christmas prayers, cut the cake and sing the religious songs. Later they would stage demonstration putting off their shirts and move to Chief Minister’s House to register the protest.

In a meeting on Sunday, the trade union leaders from Lyari, Baldia, Keamari, Liaquatabad, Jamshed town, North Nazimabad, GulshaneIqbal and other towns including Fareed Awan, Malik Nawaz, Inayatullah Baloch, Master Samuel, Karamat Bhatti, Waris Gulnaz, Ilyas Sindhu etc. finalized the protest program according to which a procession would leave at 10a.m on Monday from KMC Workshop.
