NPIW engineers, workers hold demo for job regularization

RATODERO: The NPIW engineers and workers working under Agricultural Department Sindh province and belonging to twin districts of Larkana & Kambar-Shahdadkot on Wednesday held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh roundabout in Larkana and also staged a sit-in to press the rulers to accept their just demands.

Shaiq Lakhair, Naveed Leghari, Gul Muhammad Shaikh, Jawaid Mahar, Gulzar Suhag and others participated in the protest and sit-in. Talking to media, they said that a bill called Regularization of Contract & Ad hoc Employees Bill 2013 was unanimously passed by the Sindh Assembly on March 13, 2013 despite the passage of six months, their jobs have not yet been regularized by Sindh government, which was against the spirit of law.

They termed it as unjust. They further alleged that the agricultural department through Sindh chief secretary had sent a summary to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah suggesting to extend contract for another year instead of regularizing their jobs which would be the negation of the approved law passed by the elected assembly.

They urged Ex-President Zardari and MNA Faryal Talpur to intervene and save their future by regularizing their posts/jobs without loss of further time and earn prayers.

Meanwhile, lady health workers and visitors belonging to districts of Larkana & Kambar-Shahdadkot also held a protest for regularization of their jobs.
