Officers asked to take steps for ending corporal punishment

Peshawar: The Additional Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has, in a circular to Director and all District Education Officers Male and Female Elementary and Secondary Education Department Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa directed to take measures to end corporal punishment in the educational institutes.

They have been directed to ensure and monitor the implementation on clear instructions of the provincial government regarding ban on corporal punishment and submit daily and weekly reports on the evidence of corporal punishment in their respective areas of jurisdiction through email address .

The Director and DEOs have further been directed to put in place a public redressal / grievances mechanism at the district, tehsil and circle levels.
