OIC condemns terrorist suicide attack in Niger

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen condemned in the strongest terms Monday's heinous terrorist suicide bomb attack inside a military camp in Niger's Inates town, near the border with Mali, leaving 18 soldiers dead and several others wounded.

Al-Othaimeen described the attack as a criminal and repulsive act, stressing OIC's support for and solidarity with the Government and people of Niger in their determination to annihilate terrorist groups in the Sahel region. He conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the government and people of Niger and wished for a speedy recovery of the wounded.

The Secretary General reaffirmed the principled position of the Organization that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism.
