One killed in car explosion

Karachi, January 10, 2013 (PPI): A man was killed and in car blast, while the body of newborn baby was found from Sachal area on Thursday.

Rescue sources said the blast occurred in a car, registration number AAX-525, parked near a fuel station in Rashid Minhas Road in the jurisdiction of Shahrah e Faisal Police Station. The explosion claimed the life a man, aged around 25, while two other persons were wounded in the incident.

The identity of deceased could not be ascertained. The bomb weighted 2 kilograms completely damaged the vehicle. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.

Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) sources said the explosive material was placed in the rear part of the vehicle. The number-plate of the vehicle was said to be fake. The blast created panic in the area.

Separately, the body of newborn baby child wrapped in a cloth was recovered from a drain in Sachal Goth area of Gulistan e Johar, in the remit of Sachal Police Station. It was moved to Edhi Centre.
