One killed, other injured in violence

KARACHI: A political activist was shot dead and one youth injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Tuesday.

A 45yearold man, Rasheed Ahmed, son of Mehmood Abbas, was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Orangi Town, Sector11, within the precincts of Iqbal Market police station.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medicolegal formalities.

Iqbal Market police said the victim received five bullets in upper torso and died on the way to hospital. Police said the man was associated to Muttahida Qaumi Movement MQM.

Meanwhile, a18year old Habib was wounded by unknown armed assailants in Mach Goth, Baldia Town. Injured was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
