One killed, seven injured in two mishaps

KARACHI: A man was killed and seven others were injured in different road mishaps in the city on Friday, rescue sources said.

They said a speeding a vehicle hit a bike rider, aged about 50, near Gulshan-e-Maymar, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

Separately, a speeding bus No.30 overturned near Mawach Goth in Baldia Town, as a result, seven passengers – Bibi Ashraf 60, Shah Faysal 45, Umair 5, Rashida 25, Sikandar, Shaukat, Ghulam Mustafa- were injured. They were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.

Rescue sources said that the tie-rod of the bus broke up that caused the mishap.
