Pakistan Davis Cup trials in progress

Islamabad: The trials of Pakistan Davis Cup team are in progress at the tennis courts of Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The second phase of the trials is completed. A total number of 9 players participated in the trials. From Group A: Yasir Khan and Usman Ejaz while from Group B: Muhammad Abid and Ahmed Ch. qualified for the final trails. Top 4 players will play round robin matches of best of five set matches.

Out of these four players two players would be selected for the Pakistan Davis Cup team for the Davis Cup tie to be played against Vietnam from 14-16 February 2014 at Vietnam.

Syed Dilawar Abbas, Chairman Selection committee visited at the site and witness the matches along with other members of the selection committee i.e. Mr. Mushaf Zia, Mr. Muhammad Arif Qureshi and Mr. Muhammad Khalil. Tomorrow Yasir Khan will play against Ahmed Ch. while Muhammad Abid will face Usman Ejaz at 10 am.
