Paramedics threaten boycott of vaccination

LANDIKOTAL: Khyber Agency paramedics may boycott polio vaccination campaign if political administration did not tender apology for misbehaving with medical superintendent of agency headquarter hospital Landikotal.

The doctors and paramedics of the hospital went on strike against the alleged misbehaviour of an official of the political administration of Landikotal. They also boycotted OPD service. They alleged that political tehsildar of Landikotal Daftar Khan misbehaved with their hospital medical superintendent (MS).

They said that the MS, Dr. Rauf Wazir, had told media some facts in his press conference a few days back and exposed corruption and mismanagement of some bigwigs.

The paramedics’ association president of Khyber Agency Abdul Haleem Afridi said that the paramedics and doctors may boycott polio vaccination campaign and even close the hospital if apology was not tendered.

The political authorities have, however, rejected the allegations as baseless, urging the doctors to serve the poor patients rather than to observe strike on non issues.
