Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Thursday hoisted Pakistan flag at Thalassemia Centre set up by Pakistan Baitul Maal at Fatima Jinnah Park and greeted the children of Pakistan Sweet Homes and children of Thalassemia Centre.
Addressing the children at Sweet Homes of Pakistan Baitul Maal and Thalassemia Centre he said that the young angels of Sweet Homes are future builders of the nation.
He said we all Pakistanis are like a family, and we have come here so that these children can enjoy the event of the independence like rest of the nation.
After hoisting the flag, the minister watched the tableaus and national songs presented by the children and appreciated their performance.
In his welcome address the MD PBM Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh said that Baitul Mal had been rendering services in various sectors including free medical treatment, education and training centres and rehabilitation centres for forced child labourers.
The minister also visited the Thalassemia Centre and appreciated the facilities being provided to the patients.
He said that Pakistan Baitul Mal is a sacred trust of the public and it has been serving the needy and deserving people without any discrimination and political affiliation.
Besides MNA Zaib Jaffar PML-N leaders Haneef Abbasi and Sardar Naseem also attended the function.
