Pfizer supports MMIDSP (The Nation (Pakistan))

In various events held in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, medical guidelines on management of infectious diseases (IDs) were launched in the presence of leading healthcare professionals and medical society representatives.

The guidelines are a commendable initiative by Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan (MMIDSP) as resistance has started to develop across the world especially in the developing countries where antibiotics are often liberally prescribed.

The main emphasis of the event was on the concept of Antibiotic Stewardship.

Pfizer is committed to advancing wellness, treatments and cures for people with various health issues.

The roll out of these guidelines and advocating the concept of Antibiotic Stewardship is a vital part of this commitment.

Dr Asghar Naqvi, Medical Director for Pfizer in Pakistan said, Pfizer’s role is to work with healthcare professionals, enhance medical knowledge and bring the top minds in the field of medicine together to work on projects that positively impact overall health in Pakistan.

We are thankful to the MMIDSP for putting together these guidelines which will help physicians in their treatment of infectious diseases.
