Pfizer to support edu programs for General Physicians (The Financial Daily (Pakistan))

Pfizer Pakistan Limited and College of FamilyMedicine Pakistan (CFMP) signed a M e m o r a n d u m ofUnderstanding (MoU) in August, 2015 to pledge and support asustained medical education of general practitioners (GPs). Byvirtue of this collaboration, Pfizer Pakistan will support Membershipof the College of Family Medicine Pakistan affiliated with RoyalCollege of General Practitioners (RCGP), UK – for more than 170 General Physicians (GPs) from across Pakistan.

The signing ceremony was held at the CFMP head office in Karachi.Pfizer Pakistan will propose nominations and offer enrollment forvarious Continuing Medical Education (CMEs) for generalphysicians practicing in Pakistan in accordance with the eligibilitycriteria prescribed by CFMP. Apart from the programs that areconducted in major cities, small towns will be reached throughDistance Learning Programs (DLPs), where the GPs will learnremotely through the help of technology. Every GP has to undergo atest to qualify for next module.

Dr. Farid Khan, Country Manager of Pfizer Pakistan, in hismessage to CFMP said, “We are very pleased to share that we aremaking significant investments in continuing medical education forthe physicians in Pakistan.

After the Credit Hour CMEs, thisinternationally recognized and comprehensive training program forGeneral physicians will greatly help in enhancing their medicalknowledge for better diagnosis and management of patients.”
