PFUJ protests foreign journalists’ arrest

KARACHI: Members of Pakistan Federal Union Of Journalists (PFUJ) held a demonstration at Karachi Press Club on Monday against arrest of Al-Jazeera Television’s journalist in Egypt.

The participants, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against the arrests. They demanded immediate release of Al-Jazeera staff detained in Egypt.

Speaking to the participants, Secretary General PFUJ Khursheed Abbasi said that injustice with Egyptian journalists was like injustice with us. He said that Pakistani journalists are in support of arrested Egyptian journalists Muhammad Fahim, Baber Mohamed and Peter Greste. “If they are not released, then we will extend the circle of protest,” he said.
