PM will raise drone strikes issue with US leadership: FO

Islamabad: Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Ahmed has said that the Pakistani-US relations carry much significance for progress‚ peace‚ and stability in the region.

In an interview‚ he said Pakistan and the United States are cooperating with each other in various fields and the Prime Minister’s visit will further strengthen the bilateral ties.

He said the Prime Minister will raise the issue of drone strikes with US leadership.

The spokesman said these strikes are sheer violation of our sovereignty‚ as well as international laws.

He said innocent civilians are being killed in these strikes.

Aizaz Chaudhry said UN Secretary General Ban ki Moon and Human Rights Commission have also endorsed Pakistan’s stance on drone strikes.
