Karachi: Pakistan Medical Association PMA Centre and Karachi on Thursday strongly condemned the Kidnapping of Prof Dr Muhammad Ahmad of Bolan Medical College BMC from Airport road, Quetta near Shaikh Manda.

A meeting of PMA Centre and Karachi was held at PMA House here, which was chaired by Prof S Tipu Sultan, Immediate Past President PMA Centre. The meeting was attended by Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad, Dr Idrees Adhi, President PMA Karachi Dr Qazi M Wasiq, Dr Ahmed Bhimani, Dr Hamid Manzoor, Dr Khalil Mukaddam, Dr Aziz Khan Tank, Dr Naseer Baloch, Dr Usman Ghani, Dr Najam Feroz Mehmoodi and many other senior members of the organization.

PMA said four armed kidnappers intercepted the vehicle of Ahmed and forced him to board their vehicle. PMA further said three doctors of Loralai Civil Hospital were also kidnapped a month ago, who could not be recovered yet.

PMA showed concerned at these incidents and hoped that Balochistan regime would overcome law and order situation in the Province and would provide security to both the masses and the doctors of the province. The fresh wave of kidnapping of doctors had proved that Balochistan regime had failed to provide security to doctors.

“Doctors being the soft and easy target are being kidnapped for ransom, killed and sometimes become the victim of targeted killing. This situation is not acceptable to PMA.”

PMA said that culprits involved in kidnapping doctors should be dealt with iron hands, while early and safe recovery of Prof Dr Ahmad and three other kidnapped doctors of Civil Hospital Loralai be ensured.

PMA urged the government of Balochistan to provide security to doctors and award exemplary punishment to the criminals involved in these crimes.
