Karachi: Two police stations of the city on Monday claimed to have arrested 18 criminals in different raids and recovered arms and other looted valuables from their possession.
According to a police report, Saudabad police arrested 11 accused and recovered weapons and other looted valuables from their possession. Station House Officer SHO Abdul Nabi Khokhar during patrolling arrested three accused Muhammad Danish, Usama and Muhammad Owais near Malir Tanki after an encounter.
The police also recovered three pistols, three magazines, 15 cartridges and looted cash from their possession. The gang was used to loot the people who drew cash from banks near Malir Tanki.
In a separate raid, police detained two accused Zahoor Sanjrani and Azhar Laghari involved in patrol pump robberies and recovered Rs 20,000 cash from them.
Saudabad police also arrested an absconder/proclaimed offender Saqib and recovered hashish from his possession. He was wanted to police in murder and other crime cases. The police also arrested five gamblers and recovered cash from their possession.
Similarly, Gabol Town police arrested seven criminals, including absconder/proclaimed offender, and recovered six looted arms and vehicles. SHO Gabol Town Syed Abid Hussain Shah arrested three street criminals Hafeez Ali, Zar Khan and Muhammad Saqib during routine patrolling in Sector16. The police also recovered three pistols, three magazines, 15 cartridges, snatched mobiles and looted money from their possession.
The Gabol Town police arrested four absconders/proclaimed offenders wanted to police in different cases. They launched strict crackdown against suspicious vehicles in the area and recovered three rickshaws, a yellowcab car and two motorcycles.
