Police asked to protect freewill couple

KARACHI: Sindh High Court SHC on Thursday directed the head of the North Nazimabad police station to provide protection to a freewill couple.

SHC single bench comprising Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar also issued a notice to SHO North Nazimabad police station and father of women petitioner to submit comments and ordered them to act strictly according to law.

The petitioners, Rabia and her Abdullah, residents of North Nazimabad, told the court that they contracted marriage on August 02, 2013, after she made freewill agreement at a local court in Karachi. Women petitioner submitted that her family did not accept their marriage and they were trying to kill her and her husband.

Citing home secretary, provincial police chief, SHO North Nazimabad police station, Waris Jamali, father of woman petitioner as respondents, they prayed to the court to direct the respondents to provide security to them.
