Tando Adam, Sind: Political parties in district Sanghar have started fielding candidates for the coming general elections and many interesting developments are being witnessed. The Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) in an important move has nominated Imamuddin Shauqeen for NA-236 Sanghar-III. Shauqeen in past served as a minister and has strong vote base in his constituency. Separately, the PPPP has suffered a setback when its senior leader announced joining the PML-F.
The son of former PPP MPA (Late) Rais Rasool Bux Marri, and member of Sindh Council of PPP Shakil Ahmed Marri left the PPP and joined PML-F after meeting with Pir Sahab Pagara at Kingri House, Karachi. However, the PML-F nominated Shakil Ahmed as its candidate on PS-82 Tando Adam.
Jam Mashooq Ali, Jam Zulfiqar Ali, Jam Madad Ali Khan, Jam Nafees Ali, Jam Shabbir Ali Khan are considered as other strong candidates of PML-F in the region; however, the party has yet to announce their names.
Sources said the PPP leaders Fida Hussain Dero, Hajji Mukhtiar Shoro, Lala Muhammad Ayuob Khan, Roshan Din Junejo and Muhammad Khan Junejo are in the race to get party tickets.
However, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has nominated Abdul Aziz Ghauri, Mushtaq Ahmed Aadil and Irshad Zafar as its candidates. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Shakil Ahmed Rajput, Hanif Ansari, Dr Ayuob Sheikh, Younis Rajput, Israr Qureshi, Muhammad Sarwar Rajput, Muhammad Javaid Qureshi, Devdas, Habib Baig Mujahid and Dr Sharif are in the race for party ticket. However, the official nomination is still to be announced.
