QUETTA: Politics should have element of decency. Political parties have to play their role for holding free and fair elections in the province. Media role in election process would be important.
These views were expressed by Caretaker Chief Minister Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Barozai while speaking to a delegation of JUIN which called on him under the leadership of Hafiz Fazal Muhammad Barech here Wednesday.
JUIN delegation expressing confidence in the Chief Minister termed him impartial and non controversial.
Delegation demanded deployment of Army at the sensitive polling stations. It also expressed grave concern over blocking of CNIC by NADRA.
Chief Minister said there is no question of injustice or deprivation of right with any political party or candidate during elections. Conducive atmosphere was being created for the polls. Full security would be provided to candidates, voters and polling staff. Effective security arrangements would be made at the polling stations to meet any unpleasant situation. If need be Army’s services would be sought.
He said political parties should advise their workers to express patience and not to take law into their hands. He said tribal disputes would not be allowed to hurdle polls. It would be his endeavour to resolve disputes peacefully.
He said Allah Almighty has put heavy responsibility on his shoulders and he was mobilising all his abilities to fulfil it.
“I will not do anything which creates burden on my conscience,” he said adding Allah is the biggest court where we all have to appear. He said Media’s role in the elections would be important. It is hoped that Media would discharge its responsibilities in this regard.
He said caretaker provincial cabinet would consist of non political people and no one could raise finger on it. Referring to blocking identity cards he said he would contact NADRA officials.
