PTCL in total disarray

QUETTA: Pakistan Telecommunication Corporation Limited PTCL is in total disarray and General Manager Western Telecommunication Region seems to be helpless to rectify telephone complaints.

Telephone lines in Northern area of Metropolis Nawan Killi are faulty for over two months. When contacted PTCL officials including GM WTR told that while digging ground for laying gas pipelines, two types of cables were damaged by the workers of SSGC. Two months ago these cables could not be repaired despite several complaints of faulty lines.

For instance residence Telephone number of Bureau Chief Pakistan Press International 2300726 is faulty from July 17. Another number 2300771 was also faulty and electric current was running in the wire. Several complaints were made by online system 1218. Complaints were registered but none bothered to visit the site or rectify the fault.

The matter was brought to the notice of GM PTCL. He promised to look into the matter but nothing practical was done. A week back he was told that July 17 complaint of phone no 2300726 has not been removed. He said he has asked concerned officials and it would take three to four days to repair the fault.

When contacted, GM told today that he has called a report in the matter. This seems he is helpless to tackle the matter. Later in the day when he was contacted his staff told he was busy in video conferencing. Again asked to contact GM staff said he was talking to Headquarters office and he was unable to talk.

At the same time Online complaint 1218 regularly contacts saying as per our record your complaint has been resolved. This is another blough.

Concerned officials should take notice of the situation and post an efficient and hard working officer to resolve consumers complaints.
